New to PWHL card collecting
I’m brand new to collecting PWHL cards and really excited about how this started!
I picked up two blaster boxes from the PWHL to start and had a bit of a weird experience…the base cards in the second box were all duplicates of the first box, right down to the same groups of cards in the packs. The inserts/parallels were different, thankfully, and I still had a lot of fun opening them, but definitely wasn’t expecting to end up with two copies of the same 25 base cards!
Then I stopped by a local card shop and they had a 2025-26 PWHL hobby box, so obviously that came home with me too. That turned things around pretty quickly. I ended up with some really fun pulls and parallels, and somehow managed to complete the full 1-50 base set between everything I opened.
I’m a Boston fan first and Montréal is my second team, so those are the cards I’m most excited to collect. I’ll definitely be keeping my favorites, but I also have some duplicates and other pulls I’d love to start trading for Boston, Montréal, and a few favorite players.
Very new to all of this and still learning what everything is, but having a lot of fun with it so far! I’d appreciate any tips for a new collector, especially when it comes to trading and figuring out what to hold onto versus trade.
