Missed my childhood game so I built a Web version

Hello r/TechGhana

I am Desmond Owusu Yeboah,a 16 year old student of Apam Senior High School.

Recently,I have been feeling some kind of nostalgia for a game I used to play in primary school called GHOSTEARS,where players take turn guessing a letter one by one to form a word of a country, animal etc.

And since we were on vacation and I am living with my parents who dont know how to play, I built a web version to entertain myself and I thought of sharing to get your thoughts.

You can try it out, GHOSTEARS.

Please give me review.

My first Android app - I need review

Hi r/TechGhana, I built DropACookie,a creators reward social media platform because I felt Ghanaian creators are not getting enough love from fans.

Features Fans can support creators directly, there is no follower limit,as a creator with 0 followers,as long as you have fans, you can earn.

Try the app or try on web

Reviews are accepted and expected

Thank you

Hey devs,

I'm building a Git hosting platform with one core promise: **your code will never be used to train AI models. Period.**

No Copilot-style scraping. No "we reserve the right to use your data." Just pure code hosting.

**Here's the idea:**

  • Full git hosting (push/pull repos like normal)
  • Web interface for browsing code, issues, PRs
  • Clear, transparent privacy policy (open-source the ToS)
  • Optional: if you WANT to contribute code for training, you opt-in and get something in return
  • Targeting African devs first, but open to everyone

**Why I'm building this:** GitHub training Copilot on public (and private) repos feels like a privacy violation. A lot of us didn't sign up for that. I want to build something where devs actually own their code.

**Questions for you:**

  1. Would you actually switch from GitHub for this?
  2. What features are non-negotiable for you? (CI/CD, private repos, teams, etc.)
  3. What would make you trust a new platform with your code?
  4. Would you pay for it? If so, how much?

This is early-stage—just validating if this is a real problem people care about or if I'm building in a vacuum.

Let me know what you think. Brutally honest feedback appreciated.

**Edit:** Not trying to replace GitHub overnight. Starting with core git hosting + privacy guarantee, then building out features based on what people actually need.
