12-year-old account shadowbanned for 6 months. 17k karma, multiple appeals, zero responses. Any hope?

Hey everyone,

I'm honestly running out of ideas here.

I've had my Reddit account (u/devcor) for 12 years, with over 17,000 karma, and everything worked fine until about six months ago.

I had a network glitch where Reddit kept showing submission errors. Apparently, several submissions actually went through, resulting in several accidental duplicates (posts, iirc).

I can't confirm that this caused the problem, but ever since then:

  • Every single post gets removed by Reddit's filters.
  • I get a 6-minute cooldown on posting and commenting across Reddit.
  • My profile is invisible to logged-out users.
  • I've submitted 3–4 appeals over the past couple of months. Not a single response.
  • I tried contacting Reddit admins through modmail. Just got an automated reply telling me to submit another appeal.

It's incredibly frustrating to lose access to an account I've used for over a decade, especially over what may have been an accidental technical issue.

Has anyone here actually recovered an account after being shadowbanned for this long? Did anything help besides repeatedly submitting appeals?

I'm not asking anyone to bypass the rules. I just want someone at Reddit to actually review what happened.

Any advice or firsthand experiences would be appreciated.
