60467 dump truck mod with working steering
My modification of a dump truck from 60467 set (orange tow truck). The steering assembly is inspired by and based on stevendejong's 6 studs wide virtual pivot steering mechanism.
He made a gigachad move by publishing his work absolutely for free and in easily understandable form (pictures, .io files) so I felt like I should share my take on his work just to show my gratitude. I'd never put so much effort in polishing this build (and all that comes after it) if I hadn't seen his CITY-compatible steering mechanism.
So I've made it only 2 technic pins tall (instead of 3 pins) + moved the steering shaft from the center so it fits perfectly into european cab-over trucks. The huge engine isn't necessary for the steering to work and you could easily fit the mechanism into the truck without any changes to the cab.
Unfortunately this mechanism is NOT compatible with original mudguards so i have no other choice but to damage them. Do not try this at home.
