Adventurers '49 - Sandstorm Hauler

It’s not a safari you pack lightly for - you’re going treasure hunting. And the guns aren’t going to carry themselves too.

Right after the Scorpion Tracker, the truck from LEGO set 5988 has always been one of my favorite Adventurers vehicles. So I decided to remake it as the main means of transportation for my #adventurers1949 bad guys team.

In this revamp/continuation series, I decided to give the antagonists’ vehicles a more military surplus look. For this model, I drew inspiration from cargo trucks of that era, mainly the GMC CCKW.

I just finished my Daily Planet Modular Building MOC and am Super happy with how it turned out!

Here is my Daily Planet Modular Building MOC. As a big fan of the Superhero Modular Buildings, and my favorite Superhero being Superman, I knew I had to take a crack at this iconic structure.

This seven-floored structure sits on a 32-stud baseplate and rises to 31.8 inches tall. It is 6085 pieces, and all the interiors are fully tiled off and detailed. There are six interiors: the Lobby, Reporter's Bullpen, the Newspaper Printing Room, a Conference Room, Perry White's Office, and a Maintenance Closet.

As soon as LEGO announced last year's Arkham Asylum (76300) Modular Building, I knew they had opened the door to the Daily Planet after incredible skyscrapers like the Daily Bugle (76178) and Avengers Tower (76269). I hope the easter egg of the poster of the Daily Planet in the jail cell turns into a real set, but I decided to make my own rendition in the meantime. I finished designing this MOC in February of this year, but I am just getting around to making the instructions for it.

This is directly inspired by the Superman (2025) movie starring David Corenswet, directed by James Gunn, and DC Comics, as well as the AT&T Huron Road Building in Cleveland, Ohio, which has long been believed by Superman fans to have inspired Siegel and Shuster for the Daily Planet, following its beautiful Art Deco design.

Superman has been my favorite Superhero since I was a kid, and I am very proud of my rendition of the building. I was very happy with last year's film and its rendition of the Planet, and I can't wait for Man of Tomorrow! Please let me know what you think. This has really been a labor of love.

LEGO Batman’s Titan BAT Mech

Body is based on @demon1408’s alternate build for Cole’s titan dragon mech and wings are based on @Mechalaro’s wing upgrade for that same set. All with my own Batman twist. Thoughts? Suggestions? I’m thinking a Giant batarang lol

Made some minor updates to my build of Marty’s truck, looking for opinions

I already flipped the wheels around compared to the instructions for this MOC, but I wanted to add a couple more details to the wheels. I can’t decide if this looks better or just odd. Trying to replicate the ‘center cap’ things like the real truck has. Thoughts on this? The last pic is how I had it before.

Hot take Minidolls represents characters better than Minifigs.

So I’ve got a good mix of both Minifigs and Minidolls and honestly when I compare the two the dolls usually look a lot more accurate to the characters they portray over Minifigs.

A lot of the time due to a Minifigs face limitation it’s very hard to capture a licensed characters features where Minidolls can capture them a lot easier due to their printing and head shape.

Examples in photos and what are your thoughts?

The Iron Giant! (and Hogarth)

My favorite movie from when I was a kid! Even a little representation of Hogarth! It was designed by Build Better Bricks. Haven’t decided exactly how I want to display him yet too many poses to choose from.

Lego D.Mon is here

Finally I have a chance to do a customized D.Mon minifigure and the mech Beast. I tried to make the mech as the same size as the official D.Va’s mech. I am so glad in the game D.Mon has a longer hair so I can use that common female hair piece, otherwise I would have to wait for that hair piece from the new hair mode in the X file set.

The mech Beast was a hard one because I am not used to building robots out of Lego, I have to improvise a little bit, with the blue transparent pieces instead of green. It helps the mech stands out compared to D.Va’s one.

Inspired by Moc (still a wip)

The renders are finished but already I can see physical changes I’ll make to the model once I order the right bricks.

Think of the Helghast were a more technologically advanced peoples with relegious fanaticism (thus the cathedral inspired superstructure on top, inspired by warhammer/halo convenant)

Hope you like so far! Excited to build this one

MOC window box

I made a window box for my ivy and it is looking pretty okay. Still working on the feet….

I plan on filling it up and will post the grand project soon.

😆Haven’t tested the hooks yet. Pretty sure they are probably not sturdy enough, yet. Fun!

My Back to the Future LEGO collection has a new addition

I have just added Marty’s truck to my collection of Lego builds. Maybe getting the DeLorean set wasn’t such a good idea cuz I can’t stop building more stuff from the movie 😂

Nightjar

Although this experimental autonomous VT gained a nickname of "featherless hen" among the ground crews, its' combat reputation is quite fierce.

In a regular 0.8 - 1G environment Nightjars are unable to sustain prolonged flight - but that is not its purpose. Four main engines and numerous thruster blocks allow this machine to zap around the battlefield on a speeds unreachable for conventional ground vehicles.

It has no armor and rely solely on its' shields, active defense measures and, more importantly - agility. Without a flesh-and-blood pilot it performs maneuvers that would kill most of the conscious species if they were inside.

Its' tactics are subtile: while the bulk of the strike team faces the enemy - Nightjars get behind their lines and strike the most vulnerable parts of the mechas with its coilgun. They get in, bleed out the enemy and get out - the rest is for the main forces to handle.

While it can operate fully autonomous with its onboard AI the complex nature of its' tactics require a living pilot for it to shine. When remotely operated these VTs are the most effective.

Nightjar is too expensive and highly specialized model to be the mainstay of NCM's armed forces, but in some situations it is irreplaceable.

Another upload from my Flick page.

Heavily inspired by Nicks works. I built this without any plan really, mostly just playing around with parts.
