Robot Snails with Mech Suits

Decided to make robot snails, and then decided I wanted them to be in my Incredible B.U.G.G. Band of insectoid robot musicians. But they needed arms to play their instruments... so I made them mech suits!

Made a backdrop for my favorite Disney figs that fits in a Ikea picture frame.

Big Lego fan here so from time to time I need to make room for a new set. This time the Disney castle had to make way, but I still wanted to display my Disney figs.

As you can see, the two scènes at the left top could use some more space and I knew this would happen, but I didn't want to limit myself with space too much in the other scènes because they are my favorite. So the bigger the scène the more I love the classic

AT-ST (All Terrain Scout Transport) in Lego designed by Thrawn's Revenge

The AT-ST, standing at 8.6 meters high (in-universe) struck fear into the hearts of anyone unfortunate enough to stand in it's way. As a direct upgrade to the republic's AT-RT it carried more weapons and heavier blast protection.

This particular MOC was designed by the incredible @thrawnsrevenge. It's a kinda flimsy model, but the walker itself is too and it represents all details exceptionally well at a perfect minifig-scale! It looks menacing and dwarfs minifigs. It looks and feels way better than Lego's offivial 75153 (a set I used to have), even tho Lego's version was ofc a bit more stable. That said this model gives way more points of articulation and looks spectacular as a display piece!

Btw it still fits two minifigures side by side even at this size and has an opening top hatch for wookie included access! XD

Building a medieval house with my son

My 4 y.o. son is into knights and medieval stuff right now so we started to build some stuff that might turn into a whole castle.

Also might be torn down as I write this 😅

As you can see: the inside is still under construction

Miniature Zelda OoT Final Battle MOC

I am always running out of room for LEGO, especially after assembling the new BDP Sushi Restaurant (an amazing set!).

To make some room, I took apart the Zelda Ocarina of Time Final Battle set and used the pieces to build this miniaturized version featuring all three minifigures + Navi.

Custom photo frame for my sister’s birthday

Gave my mom the botanical frame a while back and she was jealous lol. Framed up a picture of us hiking together and giving it to her later today 😬

World Map - revisited

I posted recently about the World Map I built. Last week I placed pins on (about) every place in the world where I stayed at least a night. I expected it to be a challenging task but it wasn’t too bad.

The challenges:

- The low resolution means a lot of places are located on the same stud.

- I had not nearly enough 1x1 round bricks. I started with white ones but had to switch them half way to black ones and ultimately I settled on yellow ones. That’s the colour I had the most bricks of. Unfortunately, I had meant to use yellow for the locations I experienced a solar eclipse. So I had to change that as well.

- I didn’t even have enough yellow round bricks so for Chile and New Zealand I used less. Both are streched countries so as long there are a couple of pins it should be obvious that I visited it. If I need more I will canibalise Indonesia.

Each pin consists of a 1x1 round brick topped with a dark green 1x1 round tile (one exception). I used the following colours:

- White: capital cities.

- Yellow: visited.

- Red: eclipse.

- Blue: slept on a ship (that was only on trips of about a week to experience the northern lights).

To be honest: the white ones are not the 1x1 round bricks but the cones which came with the set.

And I used a orange 1x1 round tile to mark my home city.

Possible extensions:

- I was thinking of adding the national parks. I’ve visited quite a few all over the world. I guess I visited at least fifteen in the USA alone. But I don't know yet if that will add much.

- I can use different colours to indicate how many times I visited a particular place (Beijing or Christchurch only once but Las Vegas at least five times). Or I can stack round bricks but that won't be practical.

Anyways. Still happy with my world Map and now it has a function too.

Oh, I already added the location where I will experience the solar eclipse next month.

I hope I don't jinx it this way.
