Not a Type 38 Arisaka stock? What is it?

ordered what I thought to be a type 38 stock and trigger guard housing to finish up a project rifle. What I received will not fit a Type 38 receiver, barrel, or trigger housing. From some Google research I think it could possibly be a Type I Carcano stock…. Can anyone confirm? Pics 3-6 compared to the broken take off Type 38 stock.
