Citizenship by Descent - Applying in Cyprus - Help!
Hey y'all! This July, my husband and I will be traveling to Cyprus from the US to submit his application for Cypriot Citizenship by descent. As his father was a Cypriot citizen at the time of his birth, he will be applying via the M121 form. I was hoping someone could help me with a few questions I have regarding the process:
We need to obtain a copy of his father's Cypriot birth certificate, as unfortunately he is not being the most helpful in providing us a copy himself. How quickly would we be able to get a copy to include in his application?
When I was looking at scheduling an online appointment at the Nicosia District Administration, I noticed that under "Acquisition of Cypriot Citizenship" it says that "The Nicosia District Administration will ONLY accept applications from residents of the Nicosia District or permanent residents abroad." Are we not able to apply for his Cypriot Citizenship in-person in Cyprus as US citizens?
We are moving to Spain late this year and are needing a quick turnaround on obtaining his Cypriot passport in order to do so. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
