None of them have read/understood the New Testament. Because if they had then they could not be a Capitalist or a Conservative.
- Capitalism is anathema to Christianity because Jesus constantly railed against serving Mammon, the wealthy and enriching oneself. In fact Christians are commanded to give up their wealth by the guy they claim to follow.
- It is also antithetical to Conservatism because Jesus constantly implored that we look after foreigners, the poor, the oppressed and not oppress them more; in fact we should welcome them all into our hearts and communities.
Why wouldn't he? After all Jesus was a poor Palestinian man, born in unusual circumstances, living under the heel of the boot of a brutal colonising force. He was the very kind of person that "Christian" Capitalist Conservatives today would lock in a cage, bomb and or refuse to help.
