I Cancelled My DistroKid Subscription Today — Did Anyone Else?
I cancelled my DistroKid subscription today.
To be clear, my issue is not with other stores or DSPs. Around 99.99% of my concern is with YouTube royalties, because that is where almost all of my earnings are focused.
I’ve been using DistroKid for a long time, and honestly, I had a good experience with them for most of that time. That’s why the current situation has been especially disappointing for me.
The ongoing July and August YouTube royalty delay, combined with the uncertainty around when the earnings will actually arrive, has seriously affected my trust in the service.
I’m not saying DistroKid is a bad distributor overall, and I’m not here to attack anyone. I’m simply sharing why I personally decided to cancel my subscription today.
