Which ATX neighborhood to live in when my main goal is a great high school education for my step children?
Hi! First time mom here! Due end of June. Partner and I (early/mid 30s) are moving to Austin pretty soon after my baby is born. I have three wonderful bonus babies (14, 12, and 8). I am researching neighborhoods that fit what we need but most importantly have amazing high schools to best prepare them for college. We currently live on a ranch outside of Houston so anything similar to the concept of open space and a lot of land would be nice. We love having animals on our property.
What we are looking for:
- diversity in school - we are both minorities and would love to see our kids thrive and not singled out
- strong academics with college readiness
- safe neighborhoods - we love nature and swimming as a family
- kid sports/ interest are cross country, swimming, powerlifting, art, and orchestra
- an awesome elementary tied to the neighborhood
- COMMUNITY as a mom I would love to get involved as much as possible especially since we are moving away from our village
- partner works at Tesla near the airport so I am worried about his commute but he would drive if it means better education for our kids
