With less than 500 subs these guys are severely underrated. Anybody know em?

Here's the story: So I got an Instagram advert that there was some random band playing in my city, and they didn't sound too bad so I thought "fk it im gonna go" and bought the ticket. This band trollwar was opening for them (whom I never heard before).

Long story short I was completely blown away. And at the same time i felt that it was criminal that there was only a crowd of 20-something people.

So im trying to make a friction fire for the first time. I was using a maple plow stick and a cedar log which i cut out a 2 inch runway to rub against.

So i got it to smoke for about 15 seconds, it smelt burnt, and the notch actually turned black. But I got no coal... what am I doing wrong?
