Rome tourist tax: €6 per person/night for a B&B — is this correct?
Hi everyone,
I’m visiting Rome with my girlfriend in November and we’ll be staying for 2 nights in the area around **Via Pietro Pomponazzi, near the Vatican**.
When I booked the accommodation through Booking, it says that we have to pay a **city/tourist tax of €6 per person per night**.
For two people and two nights, that would be **€24 total**.
However, I’ve checked the Rome Capitale information and I found that the tourist tax for a **Bed & Breakfast is €3.50 per person per night**.
The accommodation I booked appears to be registered as a **B&B**, so I’m wondering:
**Should the tourist tax actually be €3.50 per person/night rather than €6?**
Or is there some specific classification or rule that would make a B&B charge €6 per person/night in 2026?
I just want to make sure I understand the current rules before I arrive.
Thanks!
