Hi guys!!
Can anyone give me the rundown on Portsmouth? I’ve been reading through some older posts, and I’ve noticed quite a few people mentioning higher crime rates. However, most of those posts are a few years old, so I’m curious what the area is like nowadays! The houses seem to be significantly more affordable than some of the other areas people have recommended, which definitely caught my attention! We have four young kiddos, so safety and family-friendly neighborhoods are really important to us. Honestly, this whole Hampton Roads area has me so confused with all the different cities and neighborhoods! We’ll be moving from out of state next year, and I’m just trying to figure out where to even start looking.
I’d love some honest opinions from locals, especially about areas you would recommend or avoid. Thank you so much!!

I’ve been writing my husband some letters, and while I don’t expect to receive any very soon, it would be nice to know how often/ when you all typically received mail. Also I’ve heard eventually you had your phone on weekends, but did you still enjoy getting letters before then? Are
you able to keep the letters with you? tyyyy (:

my husband has military orders to the houston area, I will have been a nurse for about 2 1/2 years at this point at a step down here in California. I’ve heard the market is over saturated here, is that true? Also any recommendations on hospitals to check out in the area would be great! I believe we would be living in or near pearland. My goal is to ultimately transfer to icu, do they run new to specialty programs here?
