Water pooling around new shower drain, is this an acceptable amount?
Having our bathroom remodeled and they finished the shower tiling last week and just installed the fixtures today. Turned it on for 30 seconds to test and there’s water pooling about 2 feet around the shower drain, it’s been 2.5 hours and its still a puddle. About 1/4” you can splash. You can see where the wet tiles are in the photo and reflection from overhead light in the puddle.
They had used a roll out rubber membrane that’s got sandwiched between two parts of the drain and then put some sort of self leveling on top of the membrane which dried before doing the mortar and tiles and said it was leveled properly.
Is this an acceptable amount of pooling or should I ask for it to be redone, and if it needs to be redone can they just pull up the 12x12 tile grids (it came in a sheet) that are low or does entire floor need to be pulled up?? What’s the best way to correct it?
Thank you!
