ADVICE: N-Connecta vs Tekna vs Tekna+ (1.3 DIG-T manual) — any real-world problems/differences owners have noticed?
Hi all, looking at a used 2019/2020 Qashqai, 1.3 DIG-T petrol manual, and trying to decide between N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna+ before I buy.
My situation:
- Age: 40
- Purpose: short School runs, spouse pick/drop from Work
- Based in City, Midlands
- Driving profile: mostly city upto 10 miles/day, ~5,000–6,000 miles a year, occasional motorway runs
- reliability and low ongoing maintenance matter more
- Plan to keep the car 3–4 years
- Budget: up to ~£9,000 all-in for a used one
- Must-haves: sunroof/glass, heated seats/ steering wheel
- Comfortable with manual, open to automatic if it's a torque-converter (not a dry DCT)
What I'd love feedback on:
- Anyone who's owned a N-Connecta (glassroof) or Tekna or Tekna+ (1.3 DIG-T manual) — how has it held up for mostly short city trips?
- Have you noticed any reliability difference between the trims, or is it purely feature-level (leather, Bose, extra safety kit)?
- Any problems specific to the Tekna+'s extra equipment — e.g. the premium Nappa leather/seat electronics, Bose system, or the additional safety pack (Intelligent Park Assist, Blind Spot Warning, etc.) that other 2 doesn't have?
- On the engine side — anyone had timing chain rattle, A/C issues, or electrical/infotainment gremlins on the 1.3 DIG-T at moderate mileage (50k–60k)?
- Is paying extra 1000+ for the Tekna+ premium actually worth it ?
