I’ve got some exciting news about the former Poundland in Hoxton. The property agents responsible for letting it out that I emailed to say it’ll be replaced by an Australian pharmaceutical company similar to Superdrug or Savers.

I researched potential Australian pharmaceutical companies that could replace Poundland. Given Hoxton is predominantly social housing, I think it’s likely to be Chemist Warehouse. It’s an Australian pharmaceutical brand that sells similar products to Superdrug and Savers but at Savers prices.

Chemist Warehouse already operates stores in Ireland and registered with Companies House in March 2025.

Btw Savers was also offered a space in the former Poundland in Hoxton by the same property agents but declined, stating Hoxton wasn’t a suitable location.  However, Dalston’s former Poundland could be a potential fit

We’ll have to wait and see if Chemist Warehouse or another Australian pharmaceutical company will open within the next 6 months or so
