Inline spinner issue

Inline spinner issue

Been having a huge issue w the inline spinners. 60-70% of the time they don’t spin. I have tried everything I’ve seen that should help: I’ve been using a swivel, retrieving at a medium-fast pace (not too slow), gave it a kick and tug when it hits the water, etc. I brought them to my local bait shop and the owner looked at them and saw no issue (wires aren’t bent, move fine when flicked, and not knock offs). They are all mepps or rooster tails. Have no issues with a normal spinner bait, spoon spins every cast.

Super frustrating because I’ve heard these are great for catching multiple species which is what I like, and are very easy to use (cast and retrieve)

The only other idea is because they are very old. They are from my grandpas tackle box. I am going to buy a brand new one and see if I have any luck, but I don’t age is causing the issue.

Does anyone have any ideas? Anytbing would be appreciated.

Screw on jighead

First time trying the jighead where you have to screw the plastic on. Was able to figure it out, but the paddle tails are a little hunched. Is this fine or should I rip off and try to rerig perfectly straight.

Shimano Nasci 2500 issue

I invested in a shimano nasci. I like the reel but keep running into an issue. Sometimes when I make a cast, it feels like something catches and stops the full distance the cast should be going. This does not happen every time, maybe every 5-6 casts. Sometimes this also causes the line to randomly knot like crazy while casting, so much that I just have to cut line off. Another big issue is that the line often wraps around the bottom of the reel, like the metal under the actual spool itself, instead of where the line is supposed to loop around. Using 8lb mono.

I thought the bait shop owner who put the line on for me did it wrong/put too much/used old line, so got it taken off and put on by another bait shop. Both issues are still occurring.

Any thought as why this is happening and fixes? Is it because I’m using it mainly for finesse techniques that involving a lot of slack such as the Ned rig? Should I put one of the washers on it that the reel came with? Kind of a deflating experience for one of my “bigger” purchases as I’m getting into fishing.

Hello everyone again. Thank you for your help with the Ned rig, I caught a few bass on it last night. Great feeling. Trying to get down the Texas rig now. Felt I did it pretty good fist try, but the only thing I’m not sure is normal is that the bullet weight dosent sit even on top of the soft plastic (yamaswim black and blue). Is this normal? The picture may not do it justice, but it’s sitting uneven on top of the worm, like half of the bottom of the weight is resting on the worm and the other half is off. The weight also moves like crazy, would this be a problem in the water?
Any tips will help and thank you all again.

Used the advice everyone left on my original post about the Ned rig when it came to having it flush with the mushroom head and pinching the zman worm over the hook at the top. Thank you everyone, it helped so much! My follow up is this, are these good enough/straight enough? They all stand straight up when I drop them in a cup of water, just don’t know how perfect and straight the worm has to be to for efficiency.

I have no issue putting legit any other soft plastic on a normal jighead, but for some reason these zman are such a pain to get straight and perfect.

Please let me know thoughts and advice, once again thank you to everyone who’s been helping me.

Just ordered some mushroom jig heads off Amazon because I wanted to try out the Ned rig. For some reason I can’t get the top of the work to stay touching the jig. Is it because of that little hook under the jig head? Figured it’s for making sure the worm didn’t slide too low but idk. Any tips or advice would help a lot.

Found an old G Loomis IMX in my father’s old stuff and from what I’ve researched it’s a very high end product and worth a lot. I attached pictures of the model, and also the only issue I noticed. Is that something that needs repairing or just cosmetic?
