I want to pursue a career in Astrobiology. Im 21 yrs old... Where do I start?

Hello!! First post here :) Ive always been interested in our Earth's history. The 'why's and 'how's of our very existence and the extremes our Earth has been and will be. Also have loved astronomy and what could be out there to discover, various other planets and star systems and if life can happen there like us. Its been an inward dream to work for a place like NASA or similar :)

It didnt hit me till recently just how much I want to be an astrobiologist. Finally have a reason for my life, ha! The issue is that I have no clue where to start.. Im getting a laptop today to do research, and then a library for various books on the subject and around it, but Im already 21 and havent gone to college yet.. Ive taken AP Bio though in senior year of HS 😅 Do I have a chance?? Even if it takes till Im 40, at least its doing something that Im passionate about!

Any tips, advice, and communities? Thank you all!! Cant wait to discover <3

Almost 3 year old corn snake is shedding again after only 2 1/2 weeks???

Hey yall :"D So Cleppy is going into shed again which is crazy cause he shedded on May 15, so its been not EVEN 2 and a half weeks since his last shed.. Im worried. His humidity range is ~45% on the warm side during the day and ~50% at night. Try and keep his basking stick at around or over 83°F and he basks on it constantly, ambient air around it is around 78-80°F. He usually hides for his shed but he isnt this time, just under the heat lamp constantly. But his heat has always been at this point throughout the time Ive had him since he was 10 months old, so I dont think its the heat hes craving to be shedding *again*

I know at some point I had a humidity problem where I couldnt get it above 45% for a long time during the winter until when I redid his enclosure a couple/few months ago, so is he just catching up on shedding? 🫠

He ate right before this shed period, decent sized adult mouse, poop was still great and I didnt see any signs of injuries to his scales besides some denting on the top of him; maybe squeezed somewhere he shouldnt but no rash or actual cut. Just some little dents to his scales.

Dont see any snake mite signs either; checked his eyes, nose, around his mouth, in the water bowl, etc, and no sign of scale rot either. Found a little gnat in his water which was annoying as hell but I replaced it the moment I saw that. (I live in the basement where the back door gets opened often during the night for the dogs)

Before this last shed he had it was around 3 months, which I heard can be normal.

Picture was taken a few days ago, hes now pale again when I checked on him tonight :(

* Im hoping to get him a vet checkup in the next 1 1/2 weeks when Im off of work for 5 days. Anyone have any experience in this? Thank you :") *

▲ 176 r/bees

Im not sure what kind of bee she is, but she was full of pollen and her left wing was slightly shredded from the dog moving her along the pavement, and only one antennae was moving... She had a little bit of strength and could clean herself a little, so I put her near my native garden's coneflowers. They dont have any flowers yet but itll provide some shelter.

Its cold this morning so was she just cold? Its gonna warm up this afternoon. She was so very sweet, and I got upset at my dad cause he wanted to squish her since he says shes a carpenter bee and doesnt want her drilling holes.. Is she a carpenter bee?
