Theory: Issei Hyoudou is the Anti-Christ of HighSchool DxD’s universe.
Note: I have not and will not watch HighSchool DxD, because harem animes are just awful, but I have done research on HighSchool DxD and I came up with a theory that Issei is the Anti-Christ of his world.
He leads multiple people (especially women) on, giving the idea of him being a false prophet, leading a “harem” of women as his puppets for his gratification and amusement.
He is the embodiment of sins such as lust, wrath and pride.
He is literally called a “Devil”, treated as the “Champion of Hell”, and even seen as a celebrity.
He acts kind, noble or “heroic”, while being a completely awful person underneath it all.
Quoting Corinthians 11:14: “And no wonder! For Satan masquerades himself as an angel of light.”
He has deceived the Archangels into letting him into heaven to spread his “gospel”
I can’t emphasize enough how he treats women like garbage, treating them like his property rather than people. If someone threatens his harem, he lashes out, often brutally.
He isn’t protecting his friend moreso he’s protecting his property from someone ever so slightly worse than him.
He constantly mentions he wants to be the “Harem King”, meaning he wants nothing more than to have people subservient to him and subjugated to him. It also solidifies my point that he does not see the girls like Rias as friends, but as trophies for his gratification.
TL:DR: Issei is the Anti-Christ of his world due to seeing people as property, using kindness as a facade to bring more women into his inner harem circle, and treats them like his property/trophies rather than real people.
