Seeing the growing trend of listening an audiobook while reading its book caught my curiosity on the ability to include lyrics somehow. This post has for objective to find working solutions.

The most common format for audiobooks is M4B so I started with it. First, we need to get the lyrics. I used a really convenient tool, Buzz, free and opensource on GitHub. I was able to get the lyrics in the format SRT. Then I used FFmpeg to merge the lyrics with the audiobook file.

The merging was successful, the audiobook readable but the lyrics not showing on VLC nor on mobile. I am now wondering if the M4B does not support lyrics or if the merge was not done properly.

Maybe we can work together to find a working solution. What do you think?

I tried to find demos or even screenshots of the current state of Thundermail to get a general idea on what we can do as of now but I was not able to find anything.

So I wondered. Is there any NDA that prevent beta testers to disclose any overview?

Currently, we have to subcribe to find out what we really can do after 3 months of beta. It would be nice to get to see an overview before buying.
