Should be an interesting one to grind and polish.

Casting a concrete (GFRC) table top with integral pigments- work in progress.

36"x1", and 75lbs.

I shared the same technique while I was trying a sample of a new bagged GFRC product, but I bailed at the face coat because it didn't self-consolidate as intended. Some of you may remember that post, but if you'd like to compare- the difference is drastic: https://www.reddit.com/r/Concrete/comments/1lzbm6h/thought_id_share_another_fail_i_bailed_at_the/

I made myself a concrete desk.

About 8ft x 2ft, 1.5" thick. Simple but functional.

I put a mosaic of a tree in a polished concrete countertop.

31" x 26.25" x 1.5" thick, and about 110lbs for the total slab.

Exposing a polished concrete inlay with satisfying contrast, and a bit of drawing the design - OC

Everyone was right, the blue piece didn't have enough contrast. I liked this design much more.

Short of fonts, this is my only inlay work that I haven't drawn myself. To give the vector artist proper credit: Rsinha/shutterstock.com

I tried to share this video earlier but have struggled to format conflicting resolutions. Making concrete is often easier than making the videos 🤣

Part 2/2

I've shared this project before, but this two part gif shows much more of the fabrication process.

36", ~100lb, inlaid polished concrete table top. Another piece that's a few years old, but thought I'd share anyway.

I made these almost 2 years ago, but don't think I shared them here.
