Amazing new soap for the shave rotation! I got this on Amazon after seeing a review on Youtube. I had points so it didn't cost anything but isn't expensive anyway. Non-tallow, non-glycerin based. Lots of oils.

Ingredient list:
Aqua (Water), Stearic Acid, Cocos Nucifera Oil, Prunus Amydgalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond)Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Parfum (Fragrance), Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Alpha Isomethyl lonone, Limonene, Linalool.

I really like the scent. Pronounced but not overly so.

Scent notes (from Google):

• Top Notes: Citrus, Bergamot, Lemon, Aldehyde (or Aldeidic), Galbanum, Rosemary (some listings also note a touch of Pineapple and Green Notes) [1, 2, 3, 4]
• Heart / Middle Notes: Jasmine, Violet, Lily of the Valley, Geranium, Mint, and Marine/Ozonic accords[1, 2]
• Base Notes: Musk, Woody notes, Amber, Oakmoss, Sandalwood, and Patchouli [1, 2]
• (inspired in part by classic marine fragrances like Davidoff Cool Water)

2 day growth. I did my usual 3 pass shave plus touch-ups. No irritation.

Really good shave today. Second day of testing the smoothing of the blade by slicing it onto a wine cork before shaving. I did that for the first shave as well as the second shave. It seems to work nicely. I won't bother for tomorrow's shave, I think it'll be fine. For me it's 3 and done with blades.

Astra blades can be a tiny bit rough with the first shave. Someone on this site said to slice the blade on a wine cork, which I did. Seemed to help. Time will tell, though.

Love Proraso. Always a great shave with it. Also, I find that the Astra blade gets better with the 2nd shave. 3 pass shave, smooth as silk.

Nice BBS shave today. I think the Astra blades get smoother with each shave. This soap is perfect. I'd be happy if it were my only soap. 😊 It's non-tallow and lathers up really well and super slick. It leaves my skin feeling very soft.

The razor is the mild version so I can always do a 3 (multi?) pass with every shave.

Great shave today. The Astra blades may have redeemed themselves. Although the soap made a massive cushion and tons of slickness so I'm thinking that getting the right combo of soap, blade, brush is the ticket.

Speaking of soap, American Badass has a very musky scent. At first I wasn't so crazy about it, but now I really like it. Evidently, they don't have it anymore. They do have the splash though.

I used this soap because of the discussion yesterday I had with a couple redditites regarding blooming a soap or not. This soap is a very hard triple milled soap that I didn't bloom. I just wet the brush, gently shook out the excess water, swirled it onto the soap. Lots of lather.

2nd shave w/the Personna blade. (Always seems smoother than the first. 🤔) Proraso ALWAYS great! Beautiful results.

QUESTION: Do you think that "blooming" the soap is really a thing? I've tried blooming and just loading "dry," with a wet brush of course, and don't see the difference. What say you?

Anyway, the second use of the Personna blades always seems smoother than the first, not that the first is bad. I use blades 3 times and then toss.

The brush is pretty good. I like the handle size and the knot has a fair amount of backbone.

I like the scent and slickness of Tabac but it lather up very well. But I still get a good shave from it.

All of my usual culprits except for the sub. I've had this for couple of years now, but haven't used it in a long time. I forgot just how absolutely great of a soap it is. It's non-tallow but boy does it give a great lather and have a ton of slickness. Minimal ingredients but they've really got it dialed in.

The scent notes may indicate cedar and leather, but it smells like banana to me. My nose just don't work right.
