New Sword Weight Confusion

Hey swordsmen, I have commissioned a long sword of blade length 35 inches and handle length 11 inches with a steel pommel and steel guard full tang to be made in 1095 steel. I asked the Swordsmith to keep the weight under 1.8kg (max 2kg). But after many tries he says in 1095 in order for the sword to be functional and solid to use, he will work some things but the weight might increase to 4kg (3.5kg minimum). I asked him the reason he told me that 1095 he need to keep a bit high guage as if I am not a master swordsman A wrong strike will bend the edge or worse break it, I need help mates, is this really possible? And is there a way around it?

Now I know i still have like 4 months, but I can't waste ANY time, I am planning to start physiology from BRS (on instructions from a senior) as my basics are quite weak. Could i get guidance from zero... Please
