Negotiating for a staff position right out of school?

Hi everyone, I was offered a job at a base rate of $34 from a small firm I think I would enjoy working for. I am curious if I should potentially make a counter offer. Is this too much to ask for since this is my first job? I do have a GIT and the posting did have a range where I was offered the lower end of that range.

How is commuting to your job?

Hi everyone i posted a few weeks ago i had an interview and they liked me enough to where i nearly have an offer letter. One concern they had is that I live about an hour from the office. They want me to consider that before moving forward as to whether or not id be comfortable with that drive. There is obvious commutes to field job sites but they are based in that area. I do really like the place and the stuff they work on interests me a lot (geotech).

I got an interview after a resume and cover letter submission pretty quickly which I will assume is a good vibe. The company is a smaller (~50 employee) geotech firm. I am super excited because the projects they work on seem super interesting. Was just curious if there's anything else I should do to improve my chances. I wanted to bring my field camp notebook to show how I take notes in the field and organization, copy of my resume, and my advisor once said to make a list of all the skills I have done as a personal document to refer to, and notes I've taken on the company itself. Is this excessive or is there anything to recommend for an interview.
