Hi everyone, could use some help with a chord progression analysis.
I’m looking at Gloria by Randall Alan Bass, specifically bars 147–163. Up to bar 147, the piece is in F major. From there, the bass line moves downward chromatically, eventually landing on C in bar 163.
What I’m trying to understand is the harmony above the bass line. The chords feel complex, but they seem to build tension that resolves on C in bar 163.
How would you analyze this passage? Thanks in advance!
