Recruiting for study on Find A Grave and AI
FYI: I am posting this with the permission of the moderators. We are not in any way affiliated with the official Find A Grave site or admin team, we are just interested researchers ;-)
I'm writing on behalf of my research group and we are interested in the views Find A Grave community members hold on AI and its role in the Find A Grave site. We are running a compensated interview study and looking for participants (must be over age 18 and located in the US). If you are interested, please see the full details on how to sign up below and feel free to reach out to us with any questions at hcilab@bard.edu.

We are recruiting for a research study conducted by researchers in the Computer Science program at Bard College.
This study aims to understand how people with experience and interest in (virtual) graveyards, as spaces of mourning and celebration of life, understand the role of AI in these spaces, as an emerging technology. Participants will engage in a semi-structured interview and contextual inquiry activity. Total participation is expected to last between 30 and 45 minutes, but no more than 1 hour.
Participants must:
- Be an active participant on FindAGrave.com defined as at least three contributions (graves managed, photo requests fulfilled, etc.).
- Located in the United States
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a stable internet connection that can reliably conduct a maximum 1-hour Zoom call
- Have access to their Find A Grave account during the call and be able to access their messages
Study participants will be provided with a $20 gift card as a token of appreciation for their time and effort.
Participating in this research study is voluntary. You may or may not qualify for this study. Please share this recruitment post if you know someone else who might be interested in participating and qualify for this study.
If you would like to participate, please complete the linked pre-screener survey, including providing a best email address: https://forms.gle/rr7KXPKPG9aqutCu6.
The Study Team will follow up via your listed email address, if you are eligible.
Thank you for your consideration! For any questions, you may contact the research team at hcilab@bard.edu.
