How are project managers adapting to AI-driven projects?

AI is becoming part of almost every project, but managing AI projects seems very different from traditional software projects. I'm curious how other project managers are handling AI-related risks, changing requirements, data issues, and stakeholder expectations. What skills do you think are becoming essential for managing AI projects?

How are project managers actually using AI in their day-to-day work?

I’ve been exploring the intersection of project management and AI, and I’m curious how people are actually using it in real projects.

Are you using AI for things like risk identification, meeting summaries, resource planning, stakeholder communication, or project documentation?

I’m especially interested in practical use cases rather than generic “AI will transform project management” discussions. What has actually saved you time?

What project management skill becomes harder when AI enters the picture?

I’ve been thinking about how AI is changing project management beyond just automating repetitive tasks.

It seems like the difficult part isn’t learning another AI tool. It’s knowing when to trust AI, when to question its output, and when a human decision is still necessary.

For example, AI can help with risk identification, planning, reporting, and analyzing project data. But stakeholder management and handling uncertainty still seem heavily dependent on human judgment.

For PMs who are starting to work with AI, what skill do you think is becoming more important rather than less?

Curious to hear what others are seeing in their projects.
