Should I leave consulting or not?

I’ve been with a major consulting firm since graduating college and transitioned into Epic systems a couple of years ago. I’m Cogito certified and currently make around $45/hour. Despite the certification, I still feel relatively green because I have just under a year of hands-on experience in the Cogito space. Consulting is fast paced and doesn't leave much room for passive learning. The pace feels a bit unsustainable for where I am right now.

My priority is to deepen my expertise as a Cogito Analyst, really mastering the system and sharpening my SQL/ report-writing skills. Meeting aggressive client deadlines while trying to learn on the fly makes it hard for me to do that. I'm undecided between leaving for an FTE role to learn at a manageable pace (with the option to return to consulting later), or sticking it out for another year despite the stress of delivering on concepts I haven't fully mastered. I’m performing well enough, but my confidence isn't where I want it to be.

Climbing the corporate ladder or reaching management isn't my goal. I simply want to master my role at a sustainable pace and be compensated fairly for the skill set I build. Will I make a mistake leaving or I'm better off at an FTE role?

I have been working as a Cogito Analyst for a couple of months now and wondering where my skillset should be. For managers or senior analysts out there, what are your actual expectations for a junior Cogito analyst at the 3-month, 6-month, and 1-year marks?

What technical skills (SQL concepts, specific Epic tools) should I have locked down by the end of year one?
