Cruise control and turbo issue
Hello everyone,
I have a 2016 Jeep Renegade with around 160,000 km on the clock. It has a manual transmission, and I’m experiencing a strange issue.
When I fully press the accelerator pedal, sometimes — but not always — the orange check engine light appears. At the same time, my cruise control stops working, lane assist becomes unavailable, and it feels like the turbo completely cuts out.
If I stop the car, turn the engine off, and restart it, everything works normally again, although the check engine light usually stays on.
A similar situation also happens without the orange warning light appearing. I especially notice it when driving uphill and pressing the accelerator too hard/deep. Suddenly the cruise control disengages, the turbo stops working, lane assist is disabled, etc. Even when cruise control is already active, the Jeep can suddenly kick itself out of cruise control mode.
Driving without the turbo is really terrible, and in my opinion this definitely should not be happening.
The strange part is that the check engine light does not always appear — only occasionally.
Has anyone experienced something similar with their Renegade or knows what could be causing this? Any help or advice would be appreciated.
