I have an 8 year old that loves cubing and wants to go to a competition. He averages around 45 seconds for a 3x3. He knows he’s way off from the top times so no disillusion there, just wondering if it’s a welcoming place for someone who’s probably way slow compared to the top?

Also - the competition has a bunch of different cube types, if he is just doing the 3x3 do we just show up for that one or do we need to be there all day?

i don’t even know how to solve one so can’t tell you the exact method he uses, other than white cross, then corners, then middle, then bottom.
