Do you think any jurisdiction has a particularly tricky examination? If you do, where and why?

I work in IP in Canada so I have a little familiarity with the US system but not a ton. Lately I’ve been kind of confused looking at some posts on here with respect to filing bases. Can you file an application based on Use in Commerce prior to product launch? It almost seems like people are using mockups for their applications, which I wouldn’t think would be acceptable. Are the specimen requirements at filing less stringent than filing an SoU post-allowance?
