Hello! Currently not a catholic, and I am left wing. I wasn’t raised religious, but I’m interested in going to Mass and exploring Catholicism. I’m unsure where to start to find somewhere that aligns with my other views, I was maybe considering a Jesuit church? Pro women’s rights, immigration rights and LGBTQ rights are important to me greatly, and I’m worried about being put off by attending just anywhere as these issues are a core part of my being. I can see a beautiful side to Catholicism so I want to experience the teachings for myself, and potentially (hopefully) find a relationship with God.

TLDR: best place in London to explore Catholicism that is open minded & failing that some resources of things that might be useful in exploring that journey?

I’m a second year student for a psychotherapy course (ultimately level 7), who got accepted into a placement in December. This charity went bust and I have been struggling to find a replacement ever since.

I would say I’ve applied to over 40+ charities and low cost therapy services. I’ve scrapped any expectations I had - my course requires face to face but I’m applying to online ones too, I’m happy to pay my own supervision, and travel outside of my area (London). I’ve had therapists, my school and placement co ordinators give me feedback on my applications and CV. But all in all no luck.

I’m told I need clinical hours OR they’ve chosen another applicant as they had experience already in helping professions.

I’m about to start year 3 in December and I am close to quitting. I have no hope anymore and can’t see the point in applying when there’s a chance I won’t get a placement at all. Im the only one on my course who doesn’t have a placement now.

Does any one have any tips? I’ve applied to volunteer at listening posts for experience but their waiting lists are just as full. I’m thinking about quitting and starting training again at somewhere with a placement built in? Realistically I don’t have the money for this. I’ve spent all my savings on this training.
