My first iem experience
Ok, as I started my journey to find my first iems I was almost for like 6 months searching and acquiring information. Watched a shit ton of videos on different types of iems, reviews, comparisons, sound signatures etc also mind you new iems were flooding the market. with every new iems releasing my outcome keeps changing and almost lost interest while searching. First it was Then kefine klean then completely torn between the GK Kunten and the Dunu Titan X a complete stalemate for almost 3 months, but that dilemma turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Ultimately, I pivoted to the.... GK Steak, pulled the trigger, and they arrived on the 16th of may. I've been enjoying them ever since, and honestly, I am absolutely delighted. But this masterpiece did cost me ₹5,750 in total! ( Were there better options? Probablly) Along with the IEMs, my haul included:
Audiocular Spark DAC
Final Audio Type E tips (Clear/Red) — damn, these are good!
Audiocular C03 cable
A carrying case
The bass is incredibly tight, the sub-bass is perfectly controlled, and clean treble the separation is distinct and decent . The vocals feel a bit forward and not so overwhelming nor bleeding, Texture feels smooth but the overall sound signature is entirely non-fatiguing—I can listen for hours on end. Pairing them with FLAC files and a DAC really helps unearth those hidden details. you can truly hear the difference the built-in amp chip makes.
Some of my absolute favorite tracks sound completely different now—downright sensational. Man, the songs that really shine for me because of this setup are:
Joji - run
Twenty One Pilots - jumpsuit
Michael Bublé - feeling good
Hoa minzy - Bac bling (Bac Ninh)
Thudarum - pemari
Tame impala - one more hour
Baby keem - family ties
Seedhe maut - kodak and W
Prabh deep - Toofan main
Interestingly, though, Central Cee tracks like BAND4BAND and GBP feel strangely slower for some reason.
Inexplicably, the Spark DAC doesn't fully plug into my phone (Realme GT Master Edition). It doesn't go all the way in, yet it works perfectly fine with my mom's and dad's phones. Sounds like I'll have to buy a brand-new phone just to fix this issue, lol!
Anyway, just out of curiosity right when the beat is about to drop, or the chorus is hitting, or the absolute best part of a song starts at that exact split second do you ever get a random notification? Like, wtf, the Matrix is actively trying to rage-bait me. What are even the odds of that happening? Has this ever happened to you?"
