Chapter predictions!

Ok everyone! The next chapter is due out this weekend - what are our predictions?!? Will Saki finally take the initiative to truly come out to her friends, family, and (most importantly) to Kanon?!? Will she confess?

And what of Kanon? The poor naive girl has gone through life with her head metaphorically in the sand. She has even only just now realized what her feelings even are! She hasn't even had time to sit with them and fully process them! Will she ride the wave and spontaneously (or possibly involuntarily) confess instead? How will she react to whatever Saki tells her Abt what the "other day" was about?

I very much doubt that Kanon has ever paid enough attention to her surroundings to realize the social implications of being gay, and definitely not to the degree that Saki has had to struggle with her whole life. She's also very well-read, so she may well have come across queer stories before, normalizing queerness to her without the negativity and bigotry that we usually get, so she may not see her love as anything surprising in that sense. (Ignorance, as they say, is bliss)

It's also clear that Kanon has a very supportive family (like her sister clocking their mutual attraction ages ago, and even her mom using the phrase "partners" instead of "boyfriends" when talking to Saki Abt the issues with living together, and definitely from all the support she's been given since becoming deaf). Saki doesn't seem to have had that, whether from long-engrained misunderstanding with her mother, which we just learned, or through struggles with people at school and possibly even feelings of abandonment stemming from her absent father. Whether from misunderstanding or not, Saki doesn't feel she has anyone to rely on, but Kanon *does*, which I think will be a key difference in the coming chapters as Kanon becomes more comfortable with her feelings toward Saki.
