I made an app which maps already stored .nfc files to new tags and immediately emulates it.
Hey! With this video I hope you already answer the “why?!”.
Obviously it does nothing groundbreaking,
you could each time manually select the file to emulate via the native/any nfc app.
But with a big library, this means scrolling for a long time if you want to play .nfc files in the middle,
or nested in folders.
So this is mainly tailored for replaying Tonie files and is (my) only use-case.
The flow is like this (both shown in video):
Case 1: Scan tag -> Unknown? -> Assign file -> Emulate
Case 2: Scan tag -> Already assigned -> Immediately emulate
You could also reassign the tag to emulate another file if you’d like.
It never writes content on the tag, it only reads the UID and opens the file linked to it.
I inversed the usual flow some people approach with the Tonies. If you want to emulate the Tonies themself with a tag,
you’d need to buy ISO15693 (SLIX) compliant ones, which cost literally as much as 50 NTAG-XXX ones.
I like the idea of having a magazine to go through and activate the files as shown in the video.
Obviously the fun part of placing the magnetic figurines on the box vanishes with this approach.
We’ll see how my son is going to like this.
Also I wanted to learn how to develop apps for the Flipper, which was the initial motivator.
TL/DR: I’m lazy and don’t want to scroll through a big NFC library.
