Southpaw pilot's "budget" setup, with improved ergonomics

Hello! Made a post here a few days ago and got some really good suggestions about mounting height. After hours of tinkering I finally found a solution by ditching the MFH and mounting the STEM on the top. Now not only there's mouse space (the whole point of going southpaw) and the ergonomics have significantly improved, and now it finally feels like a cockpit! And there might even be space for another THQ + HID to allow multi-engine...

Southpaw pilot's budget setup

Haven't seen many southpaw posts so I decided to post it to see you guys' opinions. Fellow southpaw pilots keep your head up, there's always a solution!

VKB GNX L VKB GNE OT R + THQ + STEM SN-1 (Some Chinese homemade cheap but good hall-effect pedals)

Heavily considered STECS Space for right hand throttle for its better throttle range and detent options but the difficulty to integrate with THQ made me decide to go for the GNE. Also got to save around 50 bucks to get the mounts :) Turns out my worries were unwarranted because Y axis range is not really an issue and it's perfectly enough for aircrafts. The ministick is also nice to have, since it's literally the only right hand "throttle" that has it.

The two twist axes are more than enough to use Z-Link to implement differential braking.

Same principle can be applied to X and Y axis on the Omni throttle to create split throttle axes. Until a right hand modern throttle is released on the market (highly unlikely), this is going to be my only salvation.

"Cleaning up" after I'm done is also a breeze, without standing up or unplugging anything I can just slightly move the mounts off and go about my business.

My only issue with it is that GNE OT R cannot be mounted on the left side of THQ because the joystick will hit the levers. Otherwise I will have more space for mouse. Mounting it on the right side however, reduces mouse space, and makes it a lot more difficult to press B1-B5 buttons on the STEM.

Game compatibility: IL-2. Perfect. Every control is on the HOTAS. I guess the only limitation is this setup doesn't allow another THQ in a reasonable place for complex engine control on multi engine aircraft.

Elite Dangerous. Perfect. What else is there to say.

DCS. Almost perfect. I'm a little sad because the whole point of southpawing is that you can keep your hand on the stick while using your mouse, but with this setup, the mouse space is significantly reduced. It's not unusable, but it's definitely nice to have more mouse space without changing my posture.
