When do TOEFL scores come out, and do the unofficial scores usually stay the same?

I just took my TOEFL, and I have two questions:

How long does it usually take for the official scores to come out?

Are the unofficial scores shown right after the test usually the same as the final official scores, or can they change?

For those who took the TOEFL recently, did your unofficial scores change when you received your official results?

TOEFL test center — what should I expect on test day?

Hi! I’m taking the TOEFL iBT at a test center tomorrow, and it’s my first time.

For those who have taken the new 2026 TOEFL at a test center, could you please walk me through what happens from the moment I arrive until I finish?

What should I bring with me? Is my ID enough?
Do I need to print my appointment confirmation?
Do they provide pencils and paper for note-taking?
Where do I leave my phone and personal belongings?
Do they provide headphones and a microphone?
What is the check-in process like?
How early should I arrive?
Is there anything I’m not allowed to bring?
Is there anything you wish you had known before going?

I’d really appreciate any details about the whole test-center experience, even small things. I just want to know exactly what to expect so I can focus on the test. Thank you!

What should I do on the last day before the TOEFL? I really need at least a 4.5 in all sections

My TOEFL test is after tomorrow, and I’m wondering what would be the best way to spend my final day of preparation.

My main goal is to score **at least 4.5**, and I really don’t want to waste the last day studying the wrong things.

Would you recommend:
Doing one final full practice test?
Practicing only my weakest sections?
Reviewing strategies/templates?
Doing light practice and resting?
Something else?

For those who have taken the new TOEFL format, what helped you the most during the **last 24 hours before the test**?

Also my test will be in the center, so what should I do before going there? Is there anything that I need to bring with me or something?

Any specific advice on what I should **do or avoid today** would be really appreciated!

My test is in 3 days and I’m stuck. Any last-minute advice?

These are my recent TOEFL practice scores, and my actual test is in 3 days. I’m honestly not sure what I should focus on at this point.

My goal is to get at least 4.5 overall.

My biggest problem right now is Writing. The time feels insanely short, and I struggle to organize my sentences and ideas quickly. I usually know what I want to say, but under the time pressure, my sentence structure becomes messy.

I’m also struggling a little with Reading, especially vocabulary. Some passages or words completely throw me off, and sometimes I feel like I’m reading without actually processing what I’m reading.

Based on these scores, what would you focus on during the last 3 days? Should I keep doing full practice tests, or focus only on my weak areas?

Any strategies, templates, or last-minute tips would be REALLY appreciated.

I just want to consistently hit 4.5+ 😭

Listen & Repeat 🥲 Any tips to improve?

I’m really struggling with the Listen & Repeat section. I’ve been practicing, but my scores are still pretty bad, especially when the sentences get longer.

I usually understand the sentence when I hear it, but I have trouble remembering the whole thing and repeating it accurately. Sometimes I only remember the beginning and lose the rest.

I attached one of my practice results as an example 😭

Does anyone have a specific technique or strategy that helped you improve this skill? How do you practice remembering longer sentences? Any tips would be really appreciated!

Is this Writing score normal?

I got 8/10 on Build a Sentence, 4/5 on the Email task, and 4/5 on the Academic Discussion, but my final Writing section score was only 4/6.
Does that make sense? I honestly expected a higher overall score based on the individual task scores. Has anyone else gotten similar results?
(It is a mock test)

Email Writing Question

For the TOEFL Writing email task, do we need to write To:” and Subject:” before starting the email, or can we just start directly with the greeting (e.g., “Dear Professor…”)? Does it affect the score?

Writing Section Question

For the TOEFL Writing section, is it okay to use some words or phrases directly from the prompt in the email and Academic Discussion tasks? Or do we need to paraphrase and use different wording?
For example, can I reuse part of the question when explaining my point, or could that negatively affect my score?
