I'm doing the Hermit a Day May challenge again this year, and this time around I am creating tattoo designs inspired by a different hermit + tarot card combination each day. I was particularly proud of what I made yesterday for Skizzleman (Day 7), so I'm posting it here as well.

THE HIEROPHANT

UPRIGHT: Structure, ritual, knowledge. Follow established practices around you and trust in the knowledge that's been passed down.

REVERSED: Restriction, ignorance, rebellion. You are stifled. Question which of your traditions and norms are actually serving you right now.

Watercolor tattoos don't have strict ideas around composition or subject matter. The aesthetic of these tattoos is naturally free flowing and creative, so they often include psychedelic or surreal elements.

This was an interesting type of tattoo to use for the Hierophant, since this card centres around structure and conformity. I tried to show how creativity requires structure to reach its full potential.
