i can't write about my skills on a cover letter without sounding robotic
I don't know! I don't use AI but I am hyperconscious about sounding like one. Like what draws me to the lab's research is something I can articulate like a human cuz its specific to me. But when it comes to describing my skills and talking about my experience, because my experiences literally were generic there just doesn't seem to be much of a diversity in how I can frame it. Like what, I worked with a bunch of team members through slack to coordinate decisions on how we move forward with this project and this refined my communication skills? I did lit review where I made article summaries which idk how this is really special?? I mean I got faster at reading papers and more efficient at creating summaries I guess?? I also stared at excel sheets for hours to copy and paste some data and I say I developed excellent "attention to detail"!!!!!!!!!! duh???? My brain isn't good enough to frame this "humanly"!!!!! Sorry maybe I don't deserve a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I was the hiring person, I'd want to smack my head on the desk every single time I read "attention to detail", "strong organizational skills", "strong communication skills", "strong collaborative skills", "people oriented", "team player"!!!!!! I won't want to read that on paper like wtf does that realistically tell them about me???????
