Today marks the 80th anniversary of the Kielce Pogrom. On July 4, 1946, a mob of local civilians, soldiers, and police in Kielce, Poland, murdered 42 Holocaust survivors and injured dozens more, fueled by a false blood libel rumor.

This tragic massacre of Jews who had just survived the Shoah shattered hopes for rebuilding Jewish life in post-war Poland and triggered a mass exodus of over 100,000 Polish Jews.
