A door I found at the Brimfield Antique Market in Mass., USA - trying to find out more info!
I bought this door last weekend at Brimfield for $100. The guy couldn't tell me much about it, just that they were like "saloon" doors and he got it from a surrendered storage unit. He also had a large Buddhist? head that was done in the same gold. It seems like it has many layers of paint, and from what I gather it's Southeast Asian. I think its hand carved, as it's not perfectly symmetrical. it's about 71" tall but, with the side pieces almost 40" wide.
I love it a lot, but know nothing about antique furniture or how to pinpint where it was from. I was going to display it somewhere in our house (can't use it as an actual door since it does not fit our doorways), but wanted to make sure it wasn't anything special before like...trying to mount it to the walls. Any info anyone might have would be appreciated!
