Set Wallpaper using Yazi

I like the fact I can use Vim motions, preview thumbnails and images, use fzf and run commands so that I can set a wallpaper or move files, and so on. I launch Yazi with the following command: wezterm start yazi ~/Images/Wallpapers

Then I hover the image I want as background/wallpaper and use the keybind Ctrl-s (~/.config/yazi/keymap.toml)

It's so fast and eventually I plan to add more commands in Yazi to clip videos, etc.

Let me know what you think, oh and btw I use Rose-Pine-Moon as theme.

How to fix Wine in Sway

When I launched a Windows app in Linux using Wine, it worked in Gnome DE and Niri, but mouse clicks weren’t triggering button events in Sway WM, but I found an easy fix which basically is running a window manager within a window manager. In addition to that, you get to see window decorations (Windows 10 by default). Hope this will be helpful to anyone struggling with Wine 🍷 GNU/Linux or BSD.

Waybar always loads

I used Waybar for Hyprland, but when I configured Niri using Nirimod I removed Waybar from the startups, but long behold, Waybar still showed (by default it showed up twice ! ). The only way I found to not load it on startup was to uninstall Waybar. Mind you I’m on Ubuntu 26.04 so perhaps there is a newer version that fixes that. Is Niri supposed to do differently than my config ?

Gaps not reloading

When I change gaps or borders, it doesn’t update when I reload the config (mod+shift+c) but only if I reboot or exit Sway. Is this a 🪲?

Found a 🪲 in 👻tty

I use a French Canadian keyboard layout that has dead keys and everything is set properly in Ubuntu 26.04 and Ghostty works fine when in Gnome DE, but whenever I use a WM such as Hyprland, Niri or Sway, dead keys on my keyboard aren’t working with Ghostty. Because of that, I switched my main terminal to be Wezterm and it works well with my keyboard. It took me time to figure out it was only happening with Ghostty and unrelated to WMs or some config. I am not sure if people test Ghostty before release, but it would be great if they could test keyboard layouts other than US-English 😅.

Is Niri going to have other layouts ?

Such as stacking (Sway) or dwindle (Hyprland) ?
Note: I am currently on Ubuntu 26.04
