Hi Everyone!

I’m currently looking to sign a housing agreement and the landlord is asking to send first month’s rent upon signing (which is also outlined in the agreement) before receiving the landlords signature. Is this normal? I’m just a bit paranoid that they won’t sign on their end if I do send the money. Not sure if it’ll be disrespectful to ask for them to sign first even though it’s already outlined. Wondering if anyone has encountered this.

Hi! I’m an incoming grad student looking for housing (mainly studios) and am not too familiar with the city/management companies. I’ve been comparing reviews across Reddit and other websites (some reviews are quite outdated) and noticed some inconsistencies, so I wanted to come on here and ask for specific properties/locations that people either recommend renting/avoiding. Some companies I’m currently considering include Evanston Neighborhood Properties, BJB, Group Fox, Quadrel Realty, or any apartments near Northwestern Campus, preferably north of/around Main Street. Also looking for any recommendations!
