My ex-wife told me that someone has sent a report to child services claiming that I am an unsafe parent. As a result she won't let me see my daughter unsupervised.

So long story short I've been suffering depression and anxiety for some time. About three weeks ago I had a breakdown where I attempted an overdose (unsuccessfully obviously) and was hospitalized. Today, I am under the care of a hospital psychologist (outpatient appointment once a week) and am feeling better than ever. I was supposed to pick up my daughter this afternoon to care for her while her mother, my ex-wife, was attending a party. I arrived to find my daughter instead in the care of her cousins and they had no idea why I was there. I texted my ex asking wtf was going on? Two hours later she called and said she forgot to inform me of the change of plans. And then dropped the bombshell: I can't see my daughter without supervision. And this is the story as I understand it that she gave me...

She has apparently engaged a lawyer to get advice about how safe she is under my care. Her lawyer has told her that he can see that someone (we don't know who, and she is saying it is not her) has filed a report to child services against me for being an unsafe parent. And her lawyer advised her that she could be reported for allowing me to care for her, given that there is a report lodged against me. As a result, I have no access to my daughter. I was totally blown away by this because no one has contacted me about this at all. How on earth can she find out this information about me that I don't even know about? It seems fishy.

I won't be able to call legal aid until Tuesday due to the public holiday on Monday, but I'm feeling really stressed about this and hope someone can clarify what all this means. I'm guessing this must be some sort of mandatory reporting performed by either the police or the hospital (assuming she is telling the truth and it is not her), as I don't know who else it could be? Let me be clear that I did not attempt the overdose until she was outside of my care. I have never physically or verbally assaulted my daughter in public or private. Again, this is just a 'report', no investigation is happening as far as I'm aware of, but why tf have I not been informed?

I'm not sure what to do, can anyone give me any advice? it looks like I won't be seeing my daughter any time this weekend, which I'm quite upset about. Thanks.
