From Classmates to Opponents: Rashford and Tuanzebe Set to Meet in the Knockout Stage
England will face DR Congo in the World Cup knockout stage, setting up a reunion between Marcus Rashford and Axel Tuanzebe, who both came through Manchester United’s academy.
Tuanzebe was born in Bunia, DR Congo, and moved to England as a child. He represented England at youth level before later choosing to play for the DR Congo national team.
The two players once attended Ashton-on-Mersey School together and were both part of Manchester United’s youth system. Now, they will face each other on the World Cup stage, representing England and DR Congo on opposite sides.
