The next Crash game should bring back the skateboarding levels

Remember those two skateboarding levels from Twinsanity: Slip Slide Ice Capades and Rock Slide Rumble? Well I personally enjoyed them. Going down a steep hill and stuff. Sure they brought back the jetboard and Polar in Crash 4 It's About Time, but it's not the same. I'm talking about sliding down a steep hill, gaining momentum with massive air time.

I do recall level 5 in Crash of the Titans has this long skateboard section that could pass for a Twinsanity one.

If they do bring back the skateboarding levels, I STRONGLY recommend that the devs make them optional side levels. Just incase the player wants to only play the game, just for the platforming. The same can be said about ALL vehicle levels: Make them optional, not forced. Which was one of the critiques from Warped and Wrath of Cortex.

As for breaking all the boxes to get a gem in the skateboarding levels. The devs are gonna have to figure out where to place the boxes without making it too stressful.

Being able to do tricks like kick slips, sommersalts, and rail grinding would all be nice. As long as Crash doesn't take damage if he fails a trick.

Fast Travel

If we ever do get a brand new DAH game, they should add the option to fast travel. You might be thinking, "Yeah, it's called Navicom." Well, Navicom is for traveling to a new map. I'm talking about fast travel within the map.

Assuming that the maps in the next DAH game are about the size of GTA 5's Los Santos map or an Apex Legends map, then there should definitely be a fast travel system. Maybe have Arkvoodle use his magic to warp you to any part of the map. To make this mechanic not so broken and OP, maybe have Arkvoodle charge you in brain stems, depending on how far you want to travel. Closer spawns could cost 100 DNA, mid-distance trips = 300 DNA, and further trips = 500 DNA. That way, collecting brains could serve a 2nd purpose.

After completing Arkvoodle's mission and unlocking the landing zone, maybe have him say, "Where would you like to go, Sacred Son of Arkvoodle?". Then, after selecting the landing zone that you want to teleport to, he responds, saying, "Thou has made a wise choice, thus SPAKE Arkvoodle" or "Teleportation activated".

I know for the DAH 1 and 2 remakes, fast travel isn't necessary because the saucer moves a little bit faster, and SKATE is an option. But in the original games, the saucer is slow in comparison, and the only way to move fast on foot is by sprinting via body snatch; and boy did my human host die on me.

But again, this should only be implemented if the maps are gonna be bigger.

The next game should introduce the option to destroy the ground

After playing a bit of Donkey Kong Bananza on the Switch 2 demo, I thought to myself "What if the next game took destructable environments to the next level?"

Like Big Willy Unleashed introduced destroying trees (even if the destruction is pathetic) and Path of the Furon introduced leaving scars on buildings and the ground.

I'm NOT at all saying Crypto should have a gimmick of punching the ground and collect gold. What I'm saying is imagine being able to chuck an Ion Detonator or a Meteor Strike, and watch the explotion create a crator on the ground. I think it would make missions and wrecking havoc more immersive.

Like a mission where Crypto has to sneak into an enemy base that is heavily gaurded, and the only way in is by using the Ion Dentonator to dig underground.

This could also open up the possibilities of destroying chunks of a mountain and breaking into buildings.

An added bonus could be being able to set the grass and trees on fire with the Desintegrator Ray.

  1. Both franchises are underrated in their respective genre, and are not as popular as Mario and Grand Theft Auto

  2. Their original developer (Pandemic / Naughty Dog) shut down/sold the rights to the franchise

  3. DAH 1 and 2 / Crash 1, 2, and 3 are beloved classics

  4. Big Willy Unleashed and Path of the Furon / Titans and Mind Over Mutant didn't do so well. 2008 was the final nail in the coffin for both franchises

  5. Both franchises made a comback in late 2010's / early 2020's with the N Sane Trilogy / DAH 1 Remake

  6. Crash 4 It's About Time / DAH 2 Remake got critqued for Dark Souls difficulty / glitches

  7. Crash Rumble / DAH Clone Carnage are massive flops at attempting a multiplayer game

  8. As of right now, Activision and THQ Nordic pulled the plug on the furon 👽 and bandicoot 🦊, and went back to milking Call of Duty and Spongebob
