Hi everyone,
I’ve been on Preply for a while and recently became a Super Tutor, but I only have one serious student, whom I’ve been teaching for the past two months.
Most of my trial students (mainly from China and Saudi Arabia) book a trial, subscribe immediately, then don’t show up. The next day they unsubscribe.
I currently charge €3/hour. Could my low price be attracting non-serious students? Would raising my rate help me attract more committed learners?
I’d appreciate any advice from experienced tutors. Thanks!
Hello everyone,
I would appreciate some advice from experienced tutors.
I have been on Preply for 45 days now, and I have received only four students. Unfortunately, all four booked trial lessons but did not show up. This has been happening repeatedly, and it is becoming quite discouraging.
I have also noticed that many existing students seem dormant. They do not schedule new lessons or continue learning, even after showing initial interest. Some students also end up cancelling their subscriptions, which makes it even harder to build a stable student base.
Is this normal for new tutors on the platform? How do you deal with no-shows, inactive students, subscription cancellations, and low booking rates? Are there any strategies that helped you attract committed students and increase regular bookings?
Thank you for any advice or insights.
