Apocalipsis moderno x (novela)
It all starts in a small town with the economy in shambles. To fix it, they decide to plant bananas to make money. But it will cost lives... literally.
While planting, one worker falls and hits his head hard enough to go unconscious. A tsetse fly bites him and leaves. Then the rotting banana attracts a bee, which stings him too. With nothing left to do with the body, a mosquito carrying dengue bites him.
By coincidence, someone spills *H3U* on the body — basically H2O + H3O + uranium. That creates the first *Sea Virus*, and that's when all hell breaks loose.
After days of work, they find the "perfect fruit": watermelon. But the body was already filling with larvae, one of the Sea Virus's fuel sources. They throw water on it, and that pushes the virus to 50% completion toward becoming a sentient, living mummy.
After one month, the zombie wakes up. In three days it attacks the town, spreading the virus through *water, air, and contact with dead bodies*. The zombies go so far they reach *New Mexico*, and the air gets infected.
When people breathe it in, the virus enters through the mouth. It causes high fever in *babies, kids, and teenagers* because adults' intestines detect it and wipe it out instantly like nothing.
Doctors initially say it's just a high fever. But when a U.S. case shows up, things get serious. Millions of kids in New Mexico are at risk. Scientists race for a cure, but time is short.
They take a kid to study how the transformation works. After one test, the kid fights it off, but H3U is "eaten metal." Mortality drops from *100% to 1% chance of becoming a living dead*. They tell the world, but nobody knows who Patient 0 is.
They grab a teenager next. After 2 months, they realize there's a *1-month limit to cure it. It's fast or nothing.*
They trace it back to a town in *Nuevo León, Mexico*. So Mexico started it all because of the economy and corruption. The virus already mutated from *100% to 200% mortality!!!*
Scientists now need biologists. No sleep for 2-3 days. They work 24/7 for a cure. But they realize too late: the virus mutated to *50% faster than usual*. What takes other viruses months or years, the Sea Virus did in weeks. Experts are shocked. They've never seen this before.
Then *Patient 0 comes out of his cave.* Scientists and biologists use him to test for a cure. After months, the answer comes:
`"There's no cure... but there is hope..."`
`"Sir, we found the cure."`
`"H-how? What is it?"`
`"We need specific meds with perfect measurements. If not, the patient goes insane and mortality jumps from 200% to 300%."`
`"Okay, run the tests. There's still faith..."`
Meanwhile, chaos hits *Nuevo León and New Mexico*. If one infected person gets out, it's officially a global outbreak. That's why there are cops 24/7, buying scientists more time to stabilize H3U. Problem is: they still don't know how to calm it.
In Nuevo León: empty supermarkets, secured houses, police on watch.
In New Mexico: everyone locked inside, supermarkets destroyed.
In U.S. labs: they're checking how to save the world for the second time.
*About H3U:* It arrived in a ship from the _War of the Worlds_, but in another universe where instead of the Sea Virus, it's a war between worlds. H3U is a chemical mixed with uranium, H2O2, H2O, and *1% Black Plague*. Basically, it helps the virus control the body better.
Back in the lab:
`"Boss, we can't stabilize the uranium. What do we do?"`
`"Have faith in humanity..."`
`"...”`
`"Boss! I have something to control the uranium!"`
`"Really?! Say it!!"`
`"We'll call the uranium H3U..."`
*News:* `The Sea Virus is spreading rapidly and globally. Scientists and biologists are trying to establish an effective cure, but they don't know how. Is this the end of humanity?`
In the lab, scientists are researching how to stabilize H3U because the Sea Virus is gone now. The problem is H3U. It has a strong shell and not even a bacteriophage can touch it. So why is the danger still in Nuevo León and New Mexico? Cops don't understand it yet.
*WARNING:* Scientists realized the tsetse fly wasn't real. It was modified by a bacteria to adapt to heat, cold, and other environments. They also realized the *200% mortality is INFECTION rate, not death rate!!!*
*Family announcement:* Do not leave your house for the next two years so scientists have time and patience to find a cure. Keep watching what you were watching. Bye _signal cuts_
In the lab:
`"Boss, what do we do if it spreads to New York? That would be a bigger problem."`
`"There's nothing to do. Just research this for the next two years and see if we find anything."`

`"Boss!!! We have a problem. The virus already spread to New York! What do we do!?"`
`"H-how?! Was it air, death, or H3U-infected water!?"`
`"It was H3U. Apparently the infected person had cancer, but H3U eliminated it."`
`"Call Dr. Simon. I know he's an oncologist."`
`"On my way boss, wait for me."`
`"We still have hope. Be patient, guys. Patience..."`
`"Why did you call me?"`
`"Look at this. We put cancer here."`

A few days later, when the mother is conscious...
`"Mom wake up, I'm worried. What do I do, call the firefighters or what? Tell me."`
(Mother whispers) `"Call a scientist..." _faints_`
`"Mom nooo. Where's the phone!!!"`
*Narrator:* It's already too late. There's nothing to do...
A scientist gets a call:
`"Hello?"`
`"Scientist, my mom fainted after her cancer was cured."`
`"I'm on my way as soon as possible. Your mom has the Sea Virus."`
`"And what is that?"`
`"The Sea Virus is a virus that can cure cancer, but it will turn your mom into a zombie. We're looking for a way to extract it, but it's difficult. Wait, three scientists are on the way. Be patient."`

Chaos is gone, but absolute silence remains. The virus is in New York, New Mexico, and Nuevo León. The entire world continues with daily life without knowing what's coming in 10 years...

Scientists are hiding the Sea Virus from the world so there isn't total global chaos. Because if they release the info they've collected, something bad will happen... But that's not the problem. The problem is how they're going to explain it...
Meanwhile in New York:

`"Call Dr. Simon. I need him and the boss. This is important."`
`"Ok sub-boss."`
`"Hey sub-boss, before you go, can I tell you a joke?"`
`"Sure Dr. Simon, what's the joke?"`
`"Why can't we Americans play chess?"`
`"Why?"`
`"Because we're missing the two towers."`

`"HAHAHAH"`
