New addition to the family
Been a BMW and Audi owner most of my life and picked up a 718 a few months ago before the summer started. Best car decision of my life and it still puts a smile on my face each time I sit in it.
When making my decision, I was trying to decide between the 718 and the F-Type. I decided to spend a Saturday doing test drives and did the F-Type first. Although the torque/acceleration was fun, it felt like I was driving an American muscle car and there was nothing else exciting about the car. It felt clunky and heavy. I then drove up to test drive the 718 and I knew my decision the moment the key turned in the ignition. the ride height, the chassis, the grip, THE SOUND. I fell in love immediately.
I was going to do a pros and cons list but the only con I could think of was the mileage but as a friend once told me…think of it as “smiles per gallon”.
For those on the fence, go for it. You won’t regret it. And for those in the UK, I’d love any road trip recommendations. I’m planning to do the NC500 next summer and would love to add to that list.
