I installed mysql and its asking for the root password which I cant remember. I dont even remember having mysql on this computer before.

Any suggestions?

Apologies for the quick-fire announcements today, as it's been a bit fast-moving behind the scenes today.

Following the restructuring of our leadership, we've decided to relieve ihave0idea, known on reddit as u/Whyubullymeman015, of their duties on r/MiSideReddit.

ihave0idea was brought into the team on a temporary basis in February 2025 to compensate for me going overseas, and was issued the position permanently following a successful trial period; during their service, they performed their duty as required and managed the subreddit effectively, along with moderating r/KindMitascircle.

On behalf of the team, I'd like to thank him for his service and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours, both in the real and virtual worlds.

With that said, we're eager to ensure that moderation services are still upheld to a high standard. Therefore, we've brought in some moderators that have an existing working relationship with u/SharkStarkVT to uphold our standards. Hi all

Hope you're having a wonderful day/night.

I am writing to announce that, due to various real life commitments, I am handing over leadership of the subreddit to my 2nd in command u/SharkStarkVT

When I took over, I had grand visions for how things could run and fostering a friendly community. Unfortunately, my real life schedule made this unsustainable and I was forced to prioritise other things.

This is not to say that I would've acted differently given another choice as real life should always come before the virtual world and I encourage everyone reading this to prioritise the world around them first.

I also wish to claim responsibility for the stance on AI generated content up to this point. It was not an endorsement of this content, but an attempt to be welcoming to all.

I welcome the recently announced change on this matter.

I'll still be supporting here wherever needed, but I look forward to Shark's leadership as the community would benefit from someone with a greater online following than I to make this place bigger and better, especially with Peaceful Mode getting closer by the day!
